3 Summer Care Tips for Classic German Cars

The weather is warmer and it is time to do some serious maintenance on your classic German car. Whether you have a Mercedes, BMW or Porsche, your classic car needs love all year round, but summer is the best time to give your pride and joy some more love. Extra TLC is especially important with the amount of rain we've had recently and frequent wet driving conditions in Auburn, Opelika, Lake Martin and all points in between.

If you want to keep your car in mint condition this summer you should definitely consider the following three care tips for your classic German cars.

Wax Is Key

Waxing your classic German car can be a bit of a time-consuming task but you will reap the benefits. If you want to keep the paint looking its best, waxing is nonnegotiable.

If you properly apply the wax, using the "wax on, wax off" method, you will be able to keep your car looking beautiful for years. You should take the time to give your car a thorough wax job once every six months.

The barrier that the wax creates will protect your car from the summer weather and even things like tree sap, pollen, and bird droppings.

To preserve your wax job, always keep your classic German car covered if you are storing it outside.

Keep up with scheduled maintenance

Keeping up with scheduled maintenance is very important when you own any car, but especially important with classic German cars.

If you are driving a vehicle that has high mileage, which is likely with a classic car, you will probably want to do maintenance even more often than the manufacturer suggests.
Changing your oil can make or break your vehicle. In the summer, oil keeps high friction components cooler by lubricating them. Old or low oil levels can ruin the motor extremely quickly.

You should also keep tabs on your transmission fluid and differential oils. While these do not need to be changed as frequently, they may need to be done more so in your classic than in modern cars.

Finally, your coolant should be flushed and replaced at least once each year.

Wash your car regularly

Another way to keep your classic German car in tip top shape is to be sure that it is thoroughly cleaned, inside and out, often.

Summertime often means more rain but a rainstorm is not enough to really wash your car. Rain can contain minimal amounts of acid that are not good for your car's paint. Washing your car will make sure that no harsh chemicals are eating away at your car's paint job.
Don't forget to wash the underside of your car as well as this area is prone to corrosion when not cleaned properly.

Keeping the interior of your car is important as well. For example, you should be sure to protect the leather seats with things like leather creams.

I would like to thank you for providing suitable information regarding the maintenance of the vehicle during an extreme condition of the summer. Different types of microscopic contaminants could damage external components of the vehicle. So, the vehicle should be washed at a regular interval. Apart from this, wax should be provided to ensure an extra layer of protective cover around the vehicle. Such cover protect the vehicle from the hazardous solar radiation and other types of contaminants.

The car wash is one of the key aspects of basic car maintenance which is really essential to protect the vehicle from external contaminants. Some people often ignore the importance of regular car wash on the health of the vehicle which could cost them a lot. So, the car should be washed properly on a daily basis to remove deposited contaminants from the vehicle. Prior to leaving for a destination, a wax coating should be provided to the vehicle which protects the vehicle against environmental contaminants and also from solar radiation. Thanks for helping me understand that the interior of the car should also be cared for such as the leather to ensure that it will be in good condition for long. I will share this tip with a friend of mine since she has bought a used Porsche for herself this year. She plans to have it customized to show her personality with it. This will assure her that her used car will be in good condition for a long period of time.

The beach time is heating up, and that means it is the time for making a voyage. But before hitting the unfenced thoroughfare, there are a few measures you should take to ensure that your speed machine is prepared. You need to de-winterize your car, change your oil and oil filter, check your tires, check hoses and belts, change the air filter, replace the windshield wiper, check the coolant, radiator, and brakes, in order to prepare your adorable old faithful for the flaming heat of the canicular days.

Thanks for pointing out that changing your oil can make or break your vehicle, especially in the summer. I have noticed that my BMW has been having problems and is starting to overheat at times and I think it might be partly because I need to get the oil changed. I think it would be smart to take it into a place that has experience with foreign cars so that I can know it will be repaired right so I can get back on the road sooner.

Different types of lubricants used in the car should be subjected to inspection. Such lubricant plays a crucial role in the performance of the vehicle. The coolant used in the cooling system protects the engine against the extremely hot temperature of the summer and suitable initiative should be taken into consideration to keep the cooling system in working order. Thanks for pointing out that it's very important to keep on the scheduled maintenance for your classic German car. My dad recently bought a classic Porsche, and he is trying to figure out how to best maintain it so that he can have it running well again. I think it would be smart for him to make sure to keep up on the maintenance, as you said, and to maybe look into getting an owner's manual for it so that he can better know how to take care of it all around.

I'm glad that you talked that having maintenance for an old car is more important for their optimum performance. Yesterday, a friend of mine informed me he was hoping to find a car service because he's not able to use his vintage car because of an air conditioning absence. He asked if I had any thoughts on what would be the best option for installation. I'm grateful for this instructive article. I'll tell him that consulting a trusted vintage car air conditioning installation service can help provide information about the process.
